In case you haven’t signed up for our Twestival — this is your last call! Sign up here on Facebook.

Instructions are further below.

Urban Backyard is shown with the pointing hand on the map above.

Chengfu Road (成府路). This is where Urban Backyard is located.

The crossing with Qinghua South Road (清华南路). Westbound traffic must U-turn here to reach Urban Backyard.

Urban Backyard (都市后院). Somewhat dwarfed by the neighboring Secret Garden (五方院).

As promised, the driving instructions to the Beijing Tweetup:

BY TAXI — Tell the driver to take you to the Secret Garden Cafe (Wu Fang Yuan 五方院). Tell him or her it’s on the southern side of Chengfu Road, just east of the T-crossing with Qinghua South Road. Exit at Secret Garden Cafe and head to a slightly less well-signposted Urban Backyard (都市后院), which is just next to the Secret Garden Cafe.

BY CAR — If you’re heading west from Peking University, head east onto Chengfu Road and enter the side road immediately after the crossing with Qinghua South Road. If you’re heading east from the Line 13 Subway stop, continue west until the crossing with Qinghua South Road, then flip around — do a U-turn — and enter the side road (don’t flip back on the main road).

Either way, you should now be spotting something to your right hand side. Slow down when you see the words Secret Garden Cafe, since it’s a huge sign.

You see the Secret Garden Cafe? Now head to a slightly less well-signposted Urban Backyard (都市后院), which is just next to the Secret Garden Cafe. You should continue a door ahead (i.e. east).

BY SUBWAY — Line 13 has a stop at Wudaokou (地铁五道口站). Take a cab or if you wish, walk (it’s about 10 to 15 minutes). Exit from Wudaokou station’s exit B, as it’s probably closer and you’ll be on the correct (i.e. south) side of the road. Follow the instructions if taking a cab; otherwise, walk as far west until you see both Urban Backyard and the Secret Garden Cafe. It should be very close to Lanqiying bus stop (see below).

BY BUS — You’re looking at Lanqiying bus stop (蓝旗营公交车站) here, which is served by (at least!) Routes 307, 331, 355, 375, 628, 656, 690, 731, 743 and Yuntong 110.

BY TWEETS — Sorry, we don’t seem to support TPS (tweet positioning systems) at this point. Try again at the next Twestival. ;-)

Please tweet @DavidFeng or phone +86 13810197444 for any questions.

Beijing Twestival - Feb 12, 2009 at Urban Backyard

The Beijing Twestival is the place to go if you tweet and are in the Jing!

Our Twestival joins 200+ cities around the planet on February 12, 2009 in a worldwide Twestival event. You can be part of this exciting event as well — and help make a difference. This is a charity event where money we raise will go to charity:water.

Not sure what Twitter is? It’s a mix between a microblog, an online IM tool and a great and also fast way to find out the latest news and information. Twitter has evolved beyond just answering the standard “What are you doing?” question to sharing both interesting and informative tweets. The Wenchuan Earthquake, for example, was first broken out on Twitter.

The Twestival will be a great time to interact with other Twitter folks — and we allow nearly unlimited tweeting (or as much as the Twitter APIs allow you anyway). It’s also the perfect place to be informed about just what Twitter is.

And think about this: while you’re tweeting away, you’re helping to raise money so that people in less advantaged areas can get their daily dose of safe drinking water.

Tickets for the event will cost CNY 80 per person, which includes a free drink. The location is Urban Backyard on Chengfu Road — detailed driving addresses and maps will follow. Don’t miss out!
